About Us
Lindhead School is committed to providing a safe and happy atmosphere and a well-maintained environment for children aged four to eleven years. The school is in a rural location and serves the north of Scarborough and surrounding villages.
The school was opened in 1974 to replace a number of small village schools and benefits from excellent facilities. These include: well-designed grounds; a shaded quiet area; picnic tables; adventure playground; Millennium Wood with a raised walkway linking hides and dens; a wildlife area and an outdoor classroom.
A strong team of teaching and support staff is dedicated to meeting the needs of all the pupils both across the curriculum and socially. We aim to deliver high quality, stimulating and challenging teaching with developmental activities to ensure continuity and progression.
Lindhead School offers unique opportunities and experiences for learning and personal growth and we encourage the active participation of all children in the learning process.
The close relationships between home, school and the local community help ensure that your child achieves success. Parents should feel welcome in school as informed, valued members of a partnership between home and school.
Lindhead School aspires to ensure that all the children leave with the best possible foundation for continuing education and developing into confident, happy and successful adults.
It is my pleasure to welcome those parents whose children are joining us for the first time. We would be delighted to invite you and your family to visit us and meet the staff and pupils and see the facilities we offer.
Admission policies can be found in the Policy section of this website including North Yorkshire County Council's admission arrangements for pupils with SEN or disabilities (priority 2).
